When we adopted Maddie I thought as a herding breed she would be easy to train…let’s say she trained us!
With Maddie I wanted to do my best with her training so we enrolled in a local Obedience group who were all lovely. Maddie learnt to do sits, stays, heel work and retrieves – however she still struggled in the real world!
Her behaviour was starting to effect all aspects of our life and our relationship was broken. I didn’t know how to help her and make things better.
I searched high and low on the internet and that’s when I discovered games based training.
It truly was a game changer for us.
Our relationship went from strength to strength and we built a bond that was truly unique. Getting to see her confidence grow and knowing I was able to support her through situations made our world so much better.
Maddie was the reason I found my passion for dog training and is the reason Play & Paws exists.
