Hi, I’m Sarah!
Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up surrounded by them and dreamed of having a dog who would follow me everywhere, just like the special relationships both of my grandads had with their dogs.
When I got my first dog, I thought training would be easy! She was wonderful with my two children, but we had our challenges, including chasing motorbikes and reacting to some other dogs. At the time, we simply managed the behaviours we found difficult.
Then came Maddie, a young Kelpie cross. I thought that because she was a herding breed, she would be easy to train. Instead, she very quickly trained us! Her behaviour began to affect our everyday lives and, more importantly, our relationship.
I knew I needed to find a different way to help her.
After lots of searching, I discovered games-based training and it was a complete game changer. I began to understand Maddie as an individual and learnt how to help her feel more confident in the world. Our relationship grew stronger and our bond became incredibly special.
That experience sparked my passion for helping other dogs and their owners.
I have developed my knowledge of games-based training through training with the amazing teams at Absolute Dogs and Devon Dogs, as well as volunteering with Dogs Trust in Cardiff.
I also bring over 25 years of experience in education, helping pupils and adults learn in different ways. I use these skills to help owners understand their dogs, discover how they learn best and build a relationship based on trust, understanding and fun.
Today, I’m the proud owner of two young and vivacious working Cocker Spaniels who make sure I’m always learning and being challenged!
My aim is simple: to help dogs and their owners understand each other, build confidence and enjoy life together.
